Virginia State Route 501 Car Accident Kills One and Injures Six Others

Channel 10 News out of Roanoke is reporting today that an accident that occurred on Saturday has indeed resulted in one fatality.  Soriah R. Lunt, aged 23 from Buena Vista has succumbed to her injuries and died.  Six other people were taken to the hospital after a Jeep Grand Cherokee carrying six people collided with a Honda Civic.  Soria was a passenger in the Honda. Virginia State Police are investigating the accident.  So far, they have determined that the driver of the jeep pulled from the northbound lane into the southbound lane to pass a slower vehicle.  Tragically, the Honda Civic that Soriah was riding in was traveling in the Southbound lane.  The jeep collided with the civic in  a head-on collision. All drivers and passengers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital with injuries.  Virginia State Police are reporting that no one else suffered life threatening injuries. Roanoke Car Accident Lawyer Advises Drivers to Avoid I-81 on November 18, 2023

If you’ve taken a look at my bio page , you know that I am a Hokie. And as a Hokie, I love to watch college football as often as I can.  Like everyone, I hope that my team walks away with a “win”. But looking toward tomorrow’s game lineup in Virginia, I’m hoping that all drivers on I-81 and I-64 make it to and from their destinations safely.  Why am I so concerned about tomorrow?  Because, tomorrow, James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA, the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA and of course Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia all have HOME football games. Yes, you read that right.  Four major Virginia Universities, two of which are in ACC, will be competing in their home stadiums tomorrow, the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  The football stadiums for those universities have a total seating capacity of over 161,000 seats.
